Before we get any further, my blog got a makeover!! Double exclamation marks because I’m so excited about it. I got it from Etsy (my second home), and I couldn’t be happier. I’ve been wanting a new blog theme for the longest time, and my old blog had some weird issues and glitches that prevented me from making it my best. I couldn’t change my fonts, the widgets wouldn’t corporate, and I hated how it was extremely limiting.
Okaayy… enough about that. Ever since I got back from my trip to Florida, all I’ve been thinking of is how close my favorite day of the year is getting! We usually decorate during Thanksgiving break, but since I was away this year, we’re decorating late :( It’s worth the wait though! And I have my indoor Christmas trees and Santa mugs to keep me company, and my favorite holiday drink – hot cocoa. What’s better than regular cocoa? PEANUT BUTTER hot cocoa.
Peanut Butter Hot Cocoa
- 1 1/4 cup almond milk
- 4 tbsp cocoa powder
- 4 tbsp peanut butter
- 1 tbsp honey
Whipped Topping (opt.)
- 1/4 cup whipping cream (more ore less, depending on how much whipped cream you prefer)
- 2 tsp sugar
- 1/4 tsp vanilla
- In a saucepan, heat together peanut butter and honey on medium low heat until soft.
- Then, while whisking, slowly add in the almond milk and continue to whisk until smooth (this is to prevent the peanut butter from clumping). Add the cocoa powder and stir until dissolved.
- Pour into a mug and either enjoy, top with whipping cream or make your own: whisk the heavy whipping cream until peaks form, and then stir in sugar and vanilla. Enjoy!
Next, I made these amazing peanut butter cinnamon rolls by Crazy For Crust (one of my favorite blogs ever) that officially changed the way I eat breakfast forever. I especially love her dough recipe for her small batch cinnamon rolls. For this recipe, I used a combination of the regular dough recipe and the peanut butter filling! It was delicious and I will definitely be making these again and again.
