Now, I’m not going to deny that I have a lil’ bit of an obsession with the chocolate pistachio power combo. Who wouldn’t?? The crunchy, salty pistachios pair perfectly with the dark n’ sweet chocolate, and I’m also totally digging the earthy green and brown colors of these sweet treats. What’s not to love about that? Today, I’ve incorporated one of America’s favorite chocolate hazelnut spreads with everyone’s favorite childhood cookie, into what I’m calling nutella chocolate chip cookies. Guys… I don’t even know where to begin with these. Stuffed with luxurious Nutella and chocolate chips, these cookies are a fun and delicious twist on a classic chocolate chip cookie. Mmm! Growing up, I’d always have a quick shortbread or Girl-Scout cookie phase, but I’d always end up coming back to the good ol’ chocolate chip. I’ve always loved the warm, chocolatey, chewy-on-the-inside and crunchy-on-the-outside taste/texture of the cookie, and it’s been my favorite for pretty much my whole life. Can you blame me?
And now look how far they’ve come… even more chocolatey, with a hint of nuttiness. Nutella chocolate chip cookies are where it’s at, y’all!
First of all, let me just say that I’m not the biggest fan of nutella. Yes, I’m serious. To me, the spread is overly sweet and processed, and makes me sick to my stomach. In fact, my friends look at me like I’m mental when I say I don’t like it! However, I was scrolling through Pinterest when I saw a recipe for homemade healthy Nutella. Like most foods (cookies, cake, etc.), I wondered if Nutella would taste better if I made it myself. It’s pretty easy – a small matter of blending up some hazelnuts and flavoring it with some cocoa, of course, and some other ingredients, such as honey and vanilla. This healthy nutella I’ve created for y’all today is the perfect alternative if any of y’all are looking to eat healthier, but still miss the iconic hazelnut spread.
I have been begging on my knees for an ice cream maker for the longest time… almost begging-on-my-knees pleading for one, especially since warmer weather days are not far ahead of us! You can imagine my excitement when this Cuisinart 20-Quart Ice Cream Maker arrived in on my doorstep last Saturday. Obviously, I ripped apart the package and started experimenting recipes with it.
Obviously, the first flavor I set out to try was a classic vanilla ice cream, which is a must-have for everybody. Not only is it delicious, it’s a base recipe that you can add so many different flavors to (chocolate, strawberry, peanut butter, etc.). The possibilities are endless! I know that there are a ton of vanilla ice cream recipes out there, but I really just wanted to share my own.
