Say hello to thick, chocolatey, chia pudding heaven! Yeahhhh, baby. Ever since I first read Cookie and Kate’s chia pudding recipe, I knew it was time for me to jump on the chia pudding trend. As usual, I’m late. They’ve been popular in the food/health world for quite a while, and since it’s such an easy and delicious recipe to make, I’m kind of surprised that I’m only now sharing this chocolate chia pudding recipe on the blog!
Thing is, I know most people out there enjoy simple, easy recipes that can be made in a flash. This chocolate chia pudding is made directly in a mason jar, so you can prepare the pudding, chill it in the fridge and let it do it’s chia magic, then take it out the next morning and add toppings! Seriously, when they say “under 5 minutes” I literally mean under 5 minutes. And if it’s a lazy Sunday morning, treat yourself by pouring the pudding into a bowl and topping it (so #fancy and #instagrammable).

I’m kinda sorta freaking out over this grilled pizza right now. For one, I actually grilled the thing. Me! All by myself. Before getting into all of the food blogging shenanigans, I would have never even gotten close to a grill! But, eventually, after watching my dad cook meat countless times on our outdoor grill, I decided to try something new.
Allow me to introduce y’all to my second recipe of this years #cookoutweek: GREEN grilled pizza! Major emphasis on the word “green,” because do I even need to explain? This pizza is the real MVP of any amazing summer cookout – fresh, vibrant, and packed with tons charred, fresh-off-the-grill flavors. And can we take a moment to appreciate how flipping amazing Trader Joe’s is? I mean, what other grocery store sells pesto gouda cheese? Pesto gouda cheese!!!
Summer! Watermelon Lemonade! So! Much! Excitement!
Confession: I haven’t had lemonade in a hot minute. The last time I had it was when I was little, and I know that it was one of my favorite summer drinks growing up! We’re already a couple weeks into summer break, and I haven’t even really thought about actually enjoying the warmer weather. Last week, I was busy at my high school preparing for the upcoming school year already! Thankfully, that’s all over now, and I can seriously start to get in a summer state of mind.
Is there really anything better than a freshly baked, lemon blueberry donut? These are baked to soft, fluffy perfection, sweetened with golden-delicious honey, and bursting with bunches of citrusy goodness. Also, there’s the fact that it’s the first day of summer, and National Donut Day. Coincidence? I think not… just the little bit of magic life throws at us every now and then. Today, that magic is in the form of these dangerously enticing lemon blueberry donuts.
But really, though. I’m obsessed.
It’s memorial day weekend, and of course it’s another excuse for me to make something apple pie themed. As you can tell by the recipe title, of course, I ended up making these mouth watering apple turnovers! Because apple pie has been around in America for quite a while, it’s been a traditional recipe that most people associate with USA holidays. In fact, in the first blog post I ever wrote on My Southern Sweet Tooth (which, sadly, doesn’t exist anymore), I mentioned one of my all time favorite cookbooks ever: The Good Housekeeping Illustrated Cookbook.
While I was flipping through the cookbook, I happened to stumble upon a beautiful apple turnovers recipe. Naturally, I had to put my own, slightly healthier twist on it (but only slightly). In these apple turnovers, I implemented coconut oil, whole wheat flour, and honey instead of sugar. As always, feel free to replace with those ingredients with anything you’d like.
I’m going to have to admit, these past couple of weeks have been crazy for me, so I’d like to apologize for being gone for for so long. Finals week is coming up in just a few days, we’ve been having some end-of-the-year festivities, and I’ve been completely swamped with afterschool activities. After summer starts (!!!), I’ll be posting way more consistently.
Happy valentines day! Although I honestly don’t have any reason to celebrate the holiday whatsoever, I finally decided to do a post on it anyways. The holiday itself is sweet, pink, and chocolate-filled, so obviously there’s no reason why I shouldn’t do something festive. Plus, what’s wrong with a little extra sweetness?
Today I’m sharing a quick little chocolate waffle recipe that I’m currently obsessed with (I had a bunch of raspberries in my fridge one day and I thought… why not come up with something with them?). They’re delicious, decadent, and super duper sweet – perfect for treating yourself or your significant other. I prefer the first :)
